Before You Begin
A few things to know, so the process is smooth from the start.
We accept a minimum of 10 grams of gold. Please check and share the karat of your gold, we work with 14kt, 18kt, and 22kt gold items.
We prefer gold coins or hallmarked gold jewellery that is not studded, no stones, no plating, no filled metals. This ensures the gold we work with is pure, and that what we craft for you is built to last.

How long does the entire process take from submission to receiving my new piece?
Crafting timelines vary depending on the design chosen, HOQ's standard delivery is approximately 3 weeks from the date of order confirmation. Custom designs may take slightly longer. Your client advisor will give you a more precise timeline once your credit is confirmed and the design is finalised.
Can I ship my gold to HOQ, or do I need to visit a store?
Both options are available. You can visit any of our stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, or Hyderabad, or ship your gold to us securely. Our team will guide you through the process once your submission is received.
Do I need to know the karat of my gold before visiting?
Yes, we strongly recommend identifying the karat (14kt, 18kt, or 22kt) before you arrive or ship your gold. It helps us assess your submission faster and communicate your credit value more accurately. Most hallmarked pieces will have the karat stamped on them.
What if my gold jewellery has stones or engravings on it?
We accept only unstudded gold. Pieces with stones, enamel, plating, or filled metals cannot be processed. If your jewellery has stones, we'd recommend having them removed before submission. Our client advisors can guide you on what's eligible when you visit.
How is the credit value of my gold calculated?
Once your gold is assessed by our client advisors; either in-store or upon receipt if shipped, we communicate the applicable credit value. The gold rate used is the rate as on the date your order is placed.
Can I use my gold credit toward a custom-designed piece?
Absolutely. Your credit can go toward any piece in our collection or a fully customised design of your own.
Will there be any processing fee?
A 2% Processing fee will be charged on old-gold jewellery exchanges. No processing charges will apply to gold coin.
For Example, if the old jewellery exchange value is Rs. 1,00,000, a 2% processing fee (Rs. 2000) will be deducted, and the final credit value will be Rs. 98,000.
What if the piece I want costs less than my gold credit?
No problem. If your gold credit exceeds the value of the piece you choose, we'll refund the difference directly to your bank account. You get your new jewellery and the remaining balance back, simple and straightforward.
I have broken jewellery and old gold coins lying around. Can those count too?
Yes, Gold coins & broken jewellery are accepted for the gold-exchange. As long as it's solid gold, hallmarked, and has no stones or plating. As long as the total weight is at least 10 grams, you're good to go.
What if I submit my gold, you make the piece, but I don't like the final design?
We understand that sometimes a piece may not turn out exactly as envisioned. In that case, we'll refund your gold amount in full. However, the making charges will be deducted as they cover the craft and effort that went into creating your piece.
